So, Victor Creel… Who is he? What’s his story? What’s the deal with Vecna? What’s up with his eyes?
We first hear about Creel when Nancy talks to Eddie’s uncle at the trailer park after a scary murder. Eddie’s uncle tells Nancy he knows who did it, Victor Creel, and thinks Creel escaped from the mental hospital to commit the murder.
In episode 3, Nancy and Robin go to the library to know more about Creel. They discover an old newspaper article that talks about the Creel murders. According to the article, Creel claimed a demon was responsible for killing his wife and kids.
Victor thought his house had an old demon haunting it, which ended up killing his family. Nobody believed him, so he was charged with murder, took a plea deal, and got sent to Pennhurst mental hospital.
Nancy and Robin start thinking that maybe the demon was Vecna.
How did the Creel family meet their end
In episode 4, Nancy and Robin find a way to sneak into Pennhurst to talk to Victor and learn more about what happened to Victor Creel.
In a flashback to the 1950s, we see the Creel family move into their new home, which later becomes known as the Creel house. Strange and scary things start happening very quickly. They have nightmares, find dead animals, see things that aren’t there, and more.
One night, Vecna begins his killing Virginia Creel attack while the family is at the dinner table. Victor tries to escape with his kids, but he gets stuck in a strange trance.
In this dream-like state, he’s taken back to the horrors of the war. He snaps out of it when he hears his favorite song playing on the radio in the dining room. But when he returns to reality, he finds his daughter dead, and his son is very sick. Sadly, his son dies a week later in the hospital.
What happened to the eyes of Victor Creel
After being blamed for his family’s deaths, Victor is taken to Pennhurst mental hospital and put in a room. Then, he takes out his own eyes because he wants to be with his family, but he gets saved and stitched up.
Even though Victor Creel is important for understanding Vecna in this season, the actor Robert Englund only shows up in one episode. (Englund also said this in another interview back in March.)
We don’t know yet if we’ll see or hear more about what happened to Victor nowadays in Volume 2 because the story for the last two episodes is still a secret.
