Dylan Mortensen’s Story

Dylan Mortensen goes to Idaho University and is transgender. When her friends told her that Bryan Kohberger was arrested for a bad thing, she was surprised and did not say much. We do not really know a lot about her, except that she is the one who survived when her friends were hurt at the university.

According to what we heard, when she met the person they thought did the bad things, Bryan Kohberger, she thought her friends were just being noisy, not in trouble. Someone said that Dylan opened her door because she could not sleep with all the noise. Then, later that night, she opened her door again when she heard louder sounds.

She saw the person they thought did the bad things, but she thought that person was just a partygoer. This person was wearing dark clothes and a mask and was leaving the house after 4 AM.

Dylan Mortensen and Bethany Funke lived through a very terrible event on November 13, but sadly, they lost three of their housemates. The people who did not make it were Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin, who was Xana’s boyfriend. The police now think that Bryan Kohberger probably did this by himself.

At first, people were worried because it took a long time for the survivors to tell the police about the bad things that happened. They waited for eight hours before saying anything. After the terrible event, Mortensen and Bethany got matching tattoos to remember their friends who passed away.

The four people who lost their lives were Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen, and Kaylee Goncalves. They were all in the same house on King Road in Moscow when the bad things happened.

Dylan Mortensen is said to have seen the person they think did something bad in Idaho, but she did not call the police:

Dylan Mortensen, who is 21 years old, is said to have seen the person they think did the bad things in Idaho. She lived through the time when four people were hurt and is now being talked about a lot because of what she did or did not do.

She told the people who were investigating what happened that she opened her bedroom door and saw the person they thought was the killer, Bryan Kohberger. This happened on the night when Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin were hurt very badly in the same house.

It was early in the morning on November 13, around 4 a.m., when she saw someone dressed in dark clothes and wearing a mask. Instead of calling the police, she locked her bedroom door and went back to sleep.

The police report says that Mortensen believed she heard Kaylee Goncalves say, “There is someone here.” She followed the sound to Xana Kernodle’s room, where she heard crying. She also heard a man saying, “It is okay, I am going to help you.”

However, the police are sure that Dylan Mortensen and Bethany Funke are not involved in the bad things that happened. They believe they are innocent.

Mortensen showed her appreciation for the victims in a letter that the pastor read aloud

In December, a pastor in Idaho read a letter from Mortensen and Funke to remember the people who were hurt. Mortensen’s letter talked about Kernodle, who she said was a fun person but also really smart and hardworking. She also talked about Chapin, who was kind and loving to Kernodle and like an older brother to Mortensen.

Mortensen said that Mogen and Goncalves were like best friends who were always together, and she felt like they were like second moms to her. She said these four people changed her life and made her very happy. Even though it is sad they are not with us anymore, she believes they would want us to be happy and celebrate their lives.

Mortensen’s letter also mentioned that she thinks Xana and Ethan are together somewhere, watching over us and telling us that everything is okay. She described Maddie and Kaylee as inseparable, like the best of friends who were like sisters.
