Google has lately announced its Gmail users can now receive attachment of up to 50MB and this would be more than enough to many who regularly get giant PDFs and pictures. The previous limit was 25MB.
However, the search engine giant adds users will still not be allowed to send such huge attachments and they need to do it through Google Drive method, as usual and which is more reliable and secure.
Sending large attachments through email can choke servers and cause delivery backups as well. This is the reason Google supports sending huge images or PDFs through only Drive or some other cloud service.
The new update will be rolled out to all Gmail users before the end of the week.
It is here also to note Gmail users can only receive a maximum of 86,400 emails in one day, or 3,600 emails per hour or sixty emails per minute.
If the limit is crossed in any way, for next 24 hours users cannot receive any further emails, which will be bounced or deferred back to the sender.
