Having a glass cleaner is a very basic part of any household. There are many ways by which you can develop a homemade glass cleaner and use it for cleaning but some of them if used single-handedly is not that efficient and have certain drawbacks.

For example, in the case of vinegar you will find out that even though it does a great job in getting rid of all the water and dust spots, it will not be able to effectively get rid of some of the sticky stuff. The same is the case for rubbing alcohol so without going in details we will be telling you about some of the best homemade glass cleaners that you can use after making them.

Mixing the homemade glass cleaner

Before starting the explanation, we would like to make sure that you are aware of the right method of mixing the cleaners. You will have to mix together all of the ingredients that are required in an empty spray bottle.

It is also recommended to use a spray bottle that is new as reusing a spray bottle that previously had another solution inside of it will most likely reduce the effectiveness of the new cleaner as well and eliminates the chances of a toxic chemical reaction. Also, make sure that you keep this bottle away from the reach of pets or children for safety purposes.

The formula for making homemade glass cleaner

In order to make a homemade glass cleaner, you will need to mix white vinegar and alcohol which will make a mirror cleaner that is in some cases even more effective than the cleaning powder available in the market. Apart from cleaning surfaces, this solution can also be used to effectively provide new shine to Chrome, ceramic, and other such hard surfaces but make sure to not use this formula that contains vinegar on stones or other such materials that can negatively react due to the acid qualities. In short, you will need the following items for this process:

  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup rubbing alcohol

Making a homemade glass cleaner using corn-starch

It might be a surprise to some that corn starch can also be used to make homemade glass cleaner but it is true and in order to make this formula, you need to keep in mind the following two things:

  • Before spraying the cleaner or using it, make sure to properly shake the bottle to mix up the solution.
  • Make sure to continue wiping using the cloth until the mirror is clean as corn-starch can leave a residue if it is left on the surface.

The components required for this formula are:

  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol
