Kafka’s Spirit Companions is a companion mission in Honkai: Star Rail that was added in the 1.2 update. It is a story-driven mission that allows players to learn more about Kafka’s past and her relationship with her spirit companions.
To unlock the mission, players must have completed the Xianzhou Luofu – A Dragon Gallant, Its Ocean Distant Trailblaze campaign mission and read a specific set of messages at the Stargazer Navalia. Once these requirements are met, the mission will be available to start from the Stargazer Navalia.
The mission is divided into three parts:
- Part 1: The Trailblazer receives a message from Kafka, requesting assistance. Even though they have uncertainties, the Trailblazer decides to go and help Kafka.
- Part 2: The Trailblazer helps Kafka to investigate the source of her spirit companions. Along the way, they learn more about Kafka’s past and her relationship with her companions.
- Part 3: The Trailblazer helps Kafka to come to terms with her past and her relationship with her spirit companions.
Completing the mission rewards players with character ascension materials, Records, Credits, Relic EXP materials, Trailblaze EXP, and Stellar Jades.

To add Kafka to your team in Honkai Star Rail, you’ll have to spend Star Rail Special Passes on her special event. If you’re not successful in getting her the first time, you’re sure to get her on your next roll for a 5-star character.
